Management of Riverside International Speedway are pleased to announce the Fast Four Invitational on Friday, August 19 as part of the NASCAR weekend at the storied facility.
“It’s been several years since we’ve seen four cylinders on the track here,” said Paul McLean, general manager of Riverside International Speedway. “There has been a lot of interest from racers in that division from all over the Maritimes so we’ve decided to showcase them on one of our biggest weekends of the year.”
Four cylinder stock car racing has been a mainstay at race tracks throughout North America for decades. It is often used as an entry level where racers hone their talents before moving to faster divisions, but many competitors choose to stay in the competitive, affordable, class for their entire racing careers. The Fast Four Invitational at Riverside is expected to draw top four cylinder racers from throughout Atlantic Canada.
There have been no four cylinder races at Riverside since the facility was rebuilt in 2006 so this event provides a unique opportunity for drivers and fans of four-cylinder stock car racing.
Home track rules will preside over the Fast Four Invitational; racers who want to compete will need to submit an Entry Form by August 16 for review by track management.
The Fast Four Invitational will be run on Friday, August 19 along with the Highland Home Building Centres 100 for the NAPA Sportsman Series. On Saturday, August 9 it’s the Bumper to Bumper 300 for the NASCAR Pinty’s Series along with the Upper Clements Park League of Legends.
