The Maritime All Star Series is venturing into uncharted waters this year with a two-race “Rumble on the River” showdown for Maritime All Star Mini Stock Series racers at the region’s two oldest operating tracks, Riverside International Speedway and River Glade Speedway.
The first race is August 17 as part of the Summer Sizzler at Riverside International Speedway in James River which celebrates its 55th anniversary this year, and the second one week later on August 23 at River Glade Speedway in River Glade (NB) as part of its 60th anniversary revival.
“It’s a chance for mini stock racers and fans to enjoy two historic venues,” said Craig McFetridge, MASS promoter. “They haven’t been at Riverside for a couple of years and it’s been nearly two decades since they’ve run at River Glade. There seems to be a lot of interest from the Mini Stock racers we’ve heard from in putting this together.”
Points will be awarded based on finishing positions at both races and the driver who earns the most will be the inaugural Rumble on the River champion and receive a unique trophy in November at the MASS Awards Banquet.
Whispering Winds Campground has jumped on board to sponsor the Maritime All Star Mini Stock Series.
Driver registration is now open on the MASS website (www.maritimeallstars.ca).
Promoters for the host tracks will announce other divisions on the card, and more, on their respective websites and social media.
