Management for Riverside International Speedway is excited to announce the Rev it Up Grassroots Motorsports Extravaganza for August 15. A jam-packed schedule will see the day kick off with the second-annual Rev it Up at Riverside Show & Shine in the afternoon followed by an evening of stock car racing in four of the Maritimes top grassroots racing series.
The Napa Summer Heat Showdown for the Napa Sportsman Series will see qualifying and a 150-lap feature presented by Henry’s Auto Parts. The feature will be split into three 50-lap segments and with an increased payout and extra contingency bonuses, it is expected to attract racers from outside the series. More details are expected soon from the Series.
The evening show will also see the Maritime League of Legends and the Passione Flooring East Coast Mini Stock Tour, as well as the Maritimes first vintage car racing series – the Heart of a Champion Hot Rod Classics.
The Rev it Up at Riverside Show & Shine will build on the success of its inaugural show last year when owners of over 70 of the region’s top hot rods, antiques, and muscle cars proudly displayed their vehicles. Complete details for the Show & Shine will be announced prior to registration opening in the late spring.
“We’re excited to build a show around grassroots motorsports,” said Paul McLean, general manager of Riverside International Speedway. “And with the crossover between car show enthusiasts and race fans, we think the format is a great combination. It should be an entertaining and fun day.”
The 2020 season at Riverside is scheduled to start June 6 with a show featuring the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour and the Napa Sportsman Series. July 16-18 will see the IWK 250 Super Weekend, starting Thursday, July 16 with the IWK 250 TestFest & Tailgate Party featuring Cape Breton’s party band, High Society. On Friday, July 17 it’s the Napa Sportsman Series and Maritime League of Legends and on Saturday, July 18 the cars and stars of the IWK 250 take to the track along with the debut of the Heart of a Champion Hot Rod Classics Vintage Race Car Series.
Campsite reservation renewals for the IWK 250 Super Weekend are due by March 31; sites not renewed by then will be filled with new reservations. The IWK 250 Campsite Renewal/Request Form can be found online at www.RiversideSpeedway.ca.
The month of August sees two big shows at Riverside, the Rev it Up Grassroots Motorsports Extravaganza on the 15th and on August 29 it’s a 200-lap championship points event for the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour with support class action from the Napa Sportsman Series and the Passione Flooring East Coast Mini Stock Tour.
