JAMES RIVER, NS – The season opener for 2014 at Riverside International Speedway will wait one more day. A rainy forecast for Saturday has caused the postponement of the Ron MacGillivray 150 until Sunday. The race card scheduled for Saturday will remain as posted, except for time changes.
“It was the right thing to do,” said track manager Paul McLean. “The forecast says 100% chance of precipitation Saturday so there is no sense in the racers or the fans making the trip twice this weekend.”
The Ron MacGillivray 150 is round three of 12 on the 2014 Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour. Also on deck Sunday will be the Napa Sportsman Series in the Highland Home Building Centres 50. Pro stocks will see two rounds of qualifying (time trials and heat races) and sportsman will qualify for the feature in heat races.
Pro stock time trials will start Sunday at 1:10 p.m. followed by racing at 2 p.m. Pit gates open at 8:30 a.m. and the grandstand gate box office opens at 10 a.m. A complete Sunday schedule can be found on our event page.
Advance tickets sold for June 14 will be honoured June 15.
