Management for Riverside International Speedway is excited to announce the return of Mini Stock (4-cylinder) racing this year as part of the Summer Sizzler event on August 17. The division will be sanctioned by the Maritime All Stars Series (MASS).
The Summer Sizzler will also see the Auto World MASS Sportsman in a unique doubleheader, double points format with Twin 55-lap features – sure to be pivotal in the season-long championship chase as they’ll be points races seven and eight out of nine.
Joining the Mini Stock and Sportsman on the card will be the popular Cross Roads Legends Tour in their second and final stop at Riverside for ’24.
Rules and procedures for the Mini Stock division will be mandated by MASS and available on their website at www.maritimeallstars.ca.
Riverside International Speedway will celebrate its 55th anniversary in 2024 and it’s shaping up to be a milestone year for the facility, on and off the track. So far, besides the Summer Sizzler, events announced include the Canada Day Weekend Spectacular from June 28-30, the IWK 250 Super Race Weekend from July 17-20, and the Back to School Spectacular on September 7. Details for each event can be found on the schedule page at www.riversidespeedway.ca
Two more major event announcements are expected soon. Fans should stay tuned to Riverside’s website (www.riversidespeedway.ca), social media (Facebook, X, and Instagram), and/or sign up for the electronic newsletter (www.riversidespeedway.ca/media/newsletter) for more information.
Riverside Speedway opened in 1969 under the helm of Antigonish businessman John “Nova” Chisholm. It was sold in 1989 and bought back by Mr. Chisholm late in 2005, rebuilt in 2006, and rebranded Riverside International Speedway. For 55 years, the popular 1/3-mile high-banked asphalt oval has provided generations of race fans with some of the best stock car racing entertainment in North America.
