What a night at the RJ Poirier Heavy Equipment 150 at Riverside International Speedway. After a restart on lap 120 that involved most of the field, the top eight starters had never won an East Coast International Pro Stock Tour Race. Danny Chisholm (Port Williams, NS), who had led the majority of the race started back up front and battled Austin MacDonald (Pictou, NS) until lap 149 when another caution flew, setting up a green-white-checkered finish. Ultimately Chisholm, in only his sixth start on the Series was victorious and MacDonald had to settle for second.

Nicholas Naugle (Dartmouth, NS) got tangled up in the wreck on lap 120 but returned to the track missing a bumper and nose on his Chevy but was able to battle and earn the final spot on the podium. Naugle and the 08 car were in the mix all day. Mike Rodgers (Moncton, NB) had another great run and continues to impress this season, coming home fourth. Gage Gilby (Enfield, NS) is a Lucas Oil Rookie of the Year contender and managed to come home fifth in his first Pro Stock Tour race at Riverside.

Chisholm thrilled the crowd with a spectacular burnout victory lap then celebrated the win with his Nova Racing team and owner Donald Chisholm, also the track owner. The win ended a drought for what is widely regarded as one of the top race teams in the region.

Sam Rogers (Lower Onslow, NS) picked up pole position after winning Atlantic Tiltload heat race one this afternoon. Kyle Reid (Fort McMurray, AB) and Nicholas Naugle (Dartmouth, NS) followed suit winning their respective heat races which set the field for the RJ Poirier Heavy Equipment 150.

The East Coast International Pro Stock Tour shared the stage with the NASCAR Canada Series in a rare triple-header event that saw three 150-lap features races on the same card after the weekend’s Sunday show was cancelled due to a wet forecast. The evening ended with a spectacular fireworks display.
