Management at Riverside International Speedway have announced a $1,000 to win Maritime League of Legends Invitational 50-lap feature has been added to this Saturday’s NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Wilson Equipment 300 show at the facility. The Legends race will replace the street stock division originally planned as support class for the event, cancelled since only five street stock teams had pre-registered by closing time last Friday.
The track, along with help from Cummins Diesel and Brycon Construction, have posted an overall purse of $8,750 ($300 for last place) along with offering a full refund to teams who register by Thursday (August 14) at Noon; the $50 fee includes pit passes for the driver and two crew and the only stipulation is you must show up for the event in order to receive the refund which will be payable with winnings.
Heat races for the Legends start at 2:35 p.m., followed by NASCAR time trials and an autograph session. The Legends feature goes at 6:30 p.m. (50 laps or 40 minutes), followed by NASCAR driver introductions at 7:30 p.m. and the green flag for the Wilson Equipment 300 is set for 8 p.m.
Advance reserved and general admission tickets are available online or by calling 902.863.2410. General admission tickets will be available at the track on both race days (no reserved). Fans can get a ticket for Friday or Saturday or take advantage of a discounted weekend pass for both days.
